Induction:
Day one:
We started the day by talking about the course and going over what our first year will cover. Then, to break the ice we had to fill in facts about each other which helped to learn everyone's names and also allowed us to learn about each other. Afterwards the class split into groups to do a treasure hunt which led us around the whole college so we could explore the campus. As the day went on we worked out our logins and then set up our blogs.
In the second half of the day we were put into groups of four and given a small project. As a group we were randomly given; a personality trait for a character (ours was perfectionist), a line that had to spoken or written down (ours was " I didn't see that coming"), a prop (ours was a doll) and a technical shot we had to get (ours was match cut). Then we were given the rest of the day to plan our story board and work out what our story was going to be about.
Day two:
We began our day by logging into learn and cwa buzz then completing some necessary surveys, quizzes and reading through information. Afterwards we went to the fresher fare and collected some free stuff and was told about different organisations.
For the second half of the day we split into our groups again gathered some equipment and began filming. For this project i decided to work behind the camera because I didn't get the opportunity on the taster day I attended because I acted in it. Although Jasmine and I took it in turns to work the camera and tripod I found I constantly gave my opinion and helped to direct the actors and help my group when needed. Equally my group helped me with anything I didn't know or understand which was mainly was using the equipment. Luckily we finished filming within our time limit so we then finished the day by uploading the footage to our desktops.
