Key Editing Steps
Organisation:
First back up all the footage onto a separate device and place into folders labelled footage, audio, images, graphics, PP and scratch disk.
Creating a project:
Firstly you will need to name the project making sure the name is specific enough that you will be able to know what the project is just by reading the name. Next you have to adjust the scratch disk so that the top four options are set to your project file and then your last option the automatic save is set to your PC.
Overview of the Work space:
Project:
In this section you can import all your videos, sound and anything else you want to have in your edit also to help organise your work space you can move your items into Bins which act like files. Also from here you can add effects and adjustment layers.
Source:
Once you've imported your clips, sound and anything else you want then you can drag them to the source area where you cut down or view the media.
Timeline:
Once you've put your media into the source and chosen which to use and cut it down drag it to the timeline. Here you can still adjust by cutting or moving the sequence around but this is where you put all the media together and begin to create a sequence.
Program:
In this section you can view your sequence as a whole but also by adding markers you can section certain bit's to watch the part you want to view.
Shortcuts:
To Move the blue line press J to go backwards, K to stop and L to go forwards.
Q and W is used to cut.
To make your in point press I and for your out points press O.
To play the sequence press the space bar.
Export:
Firstly go onto file, then export, then media make sure the clip is right length as your sequence. After put the format onto H.264 then scroll down to field order and un-tick the box. Then press export.
